We are very proud of our students hard work and success, especially when it leads to graduation. Read more about what Ken Wilson experience with the Chez Veterans Center as he moves forward with his next step pursuing his Master’s Degree:
My name is Ken Wilson, and I’ve been an 88M (transportation) in the National Guard since February 2018. I recently graduated this May with a bachelor’s in animal sciences. Getting that degree was far from easy. But a resource that was consistent throughout my journey was the CVC. When I first moved to this campus I lived in Snyder Hall on the six pack. The CVC offered me a place to live that was cheaper and more spacious than living in a dorm. Anytime I needed help, the other residents and the team that worked at the CVC were there to help me. The building itself offers “quality of life,” resources. There was a time when I wasn’t able to use the campus gyms. The CVC allowed me to be able to maintain physical fitness when I didn’t have other ways to do so, and I will always be grateful for that. During finals season or if I needed space for a group project the center always had rooms available for me to use. Which can be pretty difficult during peak study season. A resource that isn’t thought about often but very helpful to an undergraduate, free printing. My curriculum involved lots of courses that required many pages to be printed and brought to class. That can add up very quickly, but with the CVC that was something that I didn’t have to worry about.
