As the Spring 2024 semester draws to a close, it’s time to celebrate the incredible diversity and achievements of our students! This semester, we’ve seen an impressive total of 3,801 student visits to the Chez Veterans Center, averaging 224 visits each week. This incredible turnout underscores the dedication and commitment of our student body to their academic and professional success.
Our campus was vibrant with 695 military-connected students, contributing richly to our community’s dynamic. The Colleges of Liberal Arts and Sciences (166), Gies College of Business (127), Grainger Engineering (84), Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences (73), and Applied Health Sciences (54) boasted the highest enrollments of these students, reflecting a wide range of academic interests.
Speaking of interests, the top majors this semester were Business Administration (69), Social Work (31), Psychology (26), Kinesiology (25), Management (23), and Undeclared (21), showcasing a broad spectrum of academic pursuits. Our students’ diverse academic choices are a testament to the inclusive and expansive educational opportunities our university offers.
Our student demographics this semester were as colorful as ever, with a mix of undergraduate (408) and graduate (278) scholars. We are proud to note the racial and ethnic diversity within our student population, with substantial representation across different groups, enhancing the rich tapestry of our campus culture. Students identified as AIAN (3), Asian (62), Black/African-American (87), Hispanic (100), Multiracial (45), NHPI (2), White (378), and something else (10).
Gender diversity also remained strong, with a robust presence of both female (269) and male (415) students, enriching campus interactions and perspectives.
As we wrap up the semester, we applaud the 142 undergraduate and graduate students who are set to graduate! Their hard work and perseverance is an inspiration to us all. Congratulations to every student for another successful semester. Here’s to many more vibrant and productive semesters to come!
